Radio Interview with Ara’s Robbie Thornhill

BCfm radio interview with Ara’s Robbie Thornhill

Bristol Community Radio interview our chief operating officer, Robbie Thornhill.  BCfm spoke to Robbie for their breakfast show.

Robbie had an opportunity to talk about the fantastic work our Housing and ARRO teams do. He detailed how they support our vulnerable clients through the pandemic.

Thank you BCfm for the radio interview!

Ara Resettlement Restart Opportunities (ARRO)

Ara has been commissioned to provide a 3 year pilot from August 2019.  The aims of this service are to reduce reoffending and prevent homelessness.

This is being achieved by finding accommodation and providing support. ARRO is for people being released from Bristol prison.

We work with people returning to:

  • Bristol
  • Somerset
  • Wiltshire
  • Bath and North East Somerset
  • North Somerset
  • South Gloucestershire
  • Gloucestershire.

For more information about ARRO, please get in touch.

Prison Release

Ara is operating a prison release service in Bristol prison.

This is seperate from the ARRO pilot. It secures accommodation for prisoners, helping to prevent their return to rough sleeping on release. We are also able to work with prisoners being released from other prisons. However, they must have a local connection to Bristol.

This is funded by the government’s Rough Sleeping Initiative through Bristol City Council.
