Matrix Quality Standard awarded to Ara Housing Service

We are proud to announce that Ara’s Housing Service has been awarded the Matrix quality standard for information, advice and guidance services. You can find us here on the Matrix Standard holder’s directory.

“It is the international quality standard for
organisations that deliver information,

service offering.
It helps providers to improve their
services by benchmarking against best
practice and it offers accreditation to
those that meet the full standard.
Organisations that feel they meet all
matrix criteria can apply for assessment

When an independent Assessor confirms
that all criteria are met, the organisation

Thanks to Bristol businesses!

Thank you to our Bristol businesses who have been a huge support to the incentive scheme for our clients.

Holland & Barrett, Franco Manca Pizzas, Boots and Tesco and 5Pointz have shown and an immense understanding and encouragement of our new project which focuses on the strengths and achievements of our residents.

The scheme involves rewarding our housing residents for achieving sobriety dates and for participating in activities and treatment.

The idea for this scheme

We realised that whilst we provide extra support for those struggling to stick to their treatment plans, we weren’t always recognising the efforts of those who were doing well. This scheme will allow us to positively reinforce the achievements of those hitting their goals with rewards from these businesses.

Their generous donations are going to make a great difference and we are all very grateful.

Thank you!

Smith & Williamson raise £4,000 for Arc Cafe

Bristol insolvency professionals raised more than £4,000 for Ara’s Arc Café after getting their thinking caps on for a quiz night hosted by accountancy, tax and investment management group Smith & Williamson.

The “Nearly Christmas Charity Quiz” has been held by the firm’s restructuring and recovery services department in Bristol for the past six years.

This year it raised £4,080 for Ara’s Arc Café at St Mary Redcliffe Church. Over the past seven years it has raised almost £18,000 for local charities.

Gil Lemon, partner in Smith & Williamson’s restructuring and recovery services said, ” We tend to select smaller local charities for whom the money raised can make a real difference. The event has become a fixture in the diary for many local firms and this year’s quiz was our best attended so far.”

Ara’s CEO Graham England added, “All of the money raised will go towards ensuring we can help more people rebuild their self-confidence, work skills and ultimately achieve paid employment. We can’t thank Smith & Williamson enough for holding the fundraising quiz and also thank those who attended for their support.”
